to op or not to op

I DO love a good bargain. My entire wardrobe is full of fabulous finds from the op-shops near and far. For a while there I felt I had lost my magic touch. I scanned the racks fruitlessly and had to learn to live with the plunders of former raids.
Recently, despairing over the threadbare nature of some of my work duds, I went back to looking for the more mundane black pants/skirts etc. Oh glory, suddenly over the course of a couple of weeks I had replenished my work wardrobe AND added a few new staples.
Today, I dropped into Spotty for a couple of necessities and then a little further afield to check the possibilities at op-shops.
I'm not a big one for special china, but I found this plate and just loved it! Then I found these beautiful placemats and couldn't leave them behind.
Feeling pretty happy. I also found a couple of long-sleeved girls tops for Pepper (who swears she has NO clothes to wear) Yippee.
We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary yesterday. When I say celebrated, I mean I said to D "It's our wedding anniversary" and he said "I haven't done anything for you" and I said "Me neither"
So we spent the afternoon dog-proofing my Dad's backyard.(where we got married)and then hit Victoria St for a late lunch of Pho and rice-paper rolls.
Later we hung out at a neighbours backyard (mid demolition)until it got dark, then cooked jaffles in the bonfire with a beer in hand.
It was a fantastic day. Kids even chose to forgo Gladiators to keep jumping on the trampoline. My heart sang.

Lovely finds! The only bad thing about country living is the lack of good op shops.

You guessed it! I stopped going in there for a while..getting too pricey, no super plunder. But these were a great find.
