This afternoon we took a punt on the NGV being air conditioned (because with a hangover, 37 degrees with insane winds is not enjoyable) and went in for an exhibition that I have been very keen to see. And yes the NGV is very nicely air-conned thank you.
Ron Mueck is originally Australian living abroad. He sculpts the most incredible human figures. I don't really want to bang on too much about the show because it seriously must be seen to be believed. I was surprised by the range of powerful emotions that I experienced while viewing the pieces. I really couldn't even go close to examining the first piece, entitled dead dad.
This sculpture wasn't in the show but it gives you an idea of what he's all about without giving a sneak preview.
Go and see it.
School starts tomorrow. Year 8 and Grade 6!
