hi there flossy!

If any of you folks are bitten by the stitching bug (ouch!) and free to op-shop today, I just found a collection of embroidery floss donated to the Salvos shop on the corner of Brighton Rd & Inkerman St in St Kilda. It's on a counter next to the main counter in a small plastic stacking drawer unit. The skeins are 10 for $2.75 are there's a good selection of colours, so far hardly tangled.

In other news, there's going to be a v. big fete on at the St Kilda Primary School on Erection Day.
The school is located near the corner of Brighton Rd and Chapel Street, behind St Kilda town Hall.
Some of the highlights include,
  • Best Cake In Show competition and all sorts of cakes, bikkies, slices & preserves
  • Rockwiz fun and games/music with Brian Nankervis
  • Tripod presenting their unique comedy musical treats
  • Craft Stall with contributions from our school community
  • Secondhand books, dvds, clothes, toys & stuff
  • Kids rides, big slide & jumping thing-a-me-jig
  • Heaps of other delish food with the obligatory snag-fest
  • Polling Booths (fascinating entertainment!)

Hi Emma! It was lovely to get to chat with you and Mary-Ann last night at the dinner. It's so funny that we have run into each other at the bookstore and yet have had no idea about our crafty other-lives! Also funny that my daughters wear Lovely Buttons in their hair, which I bought from your bookstore a few months ago!

Hope you have a great week and will perhaps run into you again soon :-)
