GET ME OUT OF HERE!!

This is the sunflower in my garden! A spectacularly wacky one with about ten heads of various sizes. There are other smaller single headed ones too, but this was the best.
Time for a break.
After work today, we are heading off on a little holiday of the unwashed variety.
Two nights with the in-laws and then 9 days camping at Cape Conran. Sun, sand, salty hair and I can't wait.
I am so desperate to get away, I packed my clothes last weekend.
Dog finishes her antibiotics today, has her stitches out and is good to go. She desperately needs to meet some other dogs. Encounters at the park have been fraught with savage barking (Robi) and generally not fun & friendly. I am hoping our friends' dogs can endure the getting to know you process without EATING her.
The only things I am sad about missing out on are:
1. NEW BABY COMING-VERY SAD ABOUT THAT
2. TOMATOES GETTING RIPE-MAYBE THERE WILL BE A FEW LEFT

Oh, I am so busy today..

It's been a while since I seriously spent any time on crafty stuff (apart from "puffing" away on my tram trips).
I have recently finished a baby quilt and I'm very happy with it. Today, because the kids are out & about and we're relegated to dog-sitting duty (already!??) I have made a little soft friend to attach to the quilt.
Have a look!
I swear the second I turn on my camera the dog gets up and walks off or enthusiastically licks her bum. I've tried sneaking up, waiting til she dozes off, or the sitting very still technique. Nup.

Robi

Well here she is, the little sweetie!
This isn't much of a photo, but until we get the hang of shooting a moving target it's the best so far..
She's been so good, a bit "yippy" where the cat's concerned, but otherwise a very good baby.
Thank god there's a breath of semi fresh air wafting around now, because we were all seriously flagging.
Thanks for Pepper's birthday well-wishes, and Loulou..Happy Birthday to your baby too!
More soon.

WOOF

Today is Pepper's 9th birthday and all she has really wanted for the past three years is a puppy.
This afternoon we will be welcoming the newest member to our family, a tiny little terrier from the Lost Dogs Home in North Melbourne.
I don't think I've ever seen a smaller dog.
There will be more news to come on this front once she arrives.
Yip....Yip....Yippeeeeeeee!
