Guess what we did today?
With fear and trepidation we packed every item of clothing we own into the car, dressed the kids in seven layers of clothing plus gumboots, then hopped into the groaning car for a two hour drive. I am no snow-bunny and my only experiences of snow are pretty negative. It's cold, it's wet, it's so cold. Yuck.
It didn't take long to work out that we were a little overdressed for the drive.
The first glimpse of snow was SO exciting. It was such a joy to see the thrill in the eyes of the kids and I think we were well prepared. We tobogganed, made a freaky-looking snowchick and pelted eachother with snowballs. It was FANTASTIC!
At the point when the cold and wet began to creep through the cotton/poly/nylon forcefield we slip-slided away, down to car, into a complete change of clothes and cosied up for our thermos lunch.
It snowed! It was magical and beautiful and most importantly no-one cried or whinged for at least three hours. Not even me.
A great day had by all.
