shades of puff-osity

Well, at long last I have completed the lampshade project.
I best be careful as my client (friend) hasn't seen them yet and may be disappointed. I hope not, because this was a major freakin' challenge and they are FINISHED I tell you.
Next time someone asks me to whip up a little something, I might think twice.
Still, it has been a learning experience and I am happy with the result. Bringing suffolk puffs to the wider community is my self-appointed crusade. Ha ha ha.
Now I might be able to read a few more books as my quota has been well down lately, and I might be able to get to sleep & wake up without thinking about the shades.
Thanks to Cintia at My Poppet for introducing me to the glories of the hot glue gun! I love you for that tip. What would I have done without it?

pre-works-in-progress

I'm a bit caught up at the moment.
It's school hols.
I'm at work three days a week.
I have some major (for me) works in progress, and I plan to post some photos representing a visual diary-ish of my stress/accomplishments.
I'm decorating 3 large lampshades in a "puffy" motif, (a'la my suffolk puff clips/badges), for 3 marquees at the MELBOURNE CUP.
I have never done a lampshade before..unless you count flinging a silk scarf over one to create an atmospheric boudoir.
It's very steep learning curve requiring endless hand-wringing, busy dreams and the roping in of parents and partners to help.
When I get a bit more done I'll give you a sneak peek.
Oooooh, we have also made a softy from the softies book, which deserves a coupla snaps too.
