stoopid craft

We have been playing a board game with our dear friends.
It has really got a bit silly now.
The game is called Carcassonne and the object is to build cities and roads which you claim with your little man-shaped counters. Each person in turn picks up a piece which fits onto the previously played pieces in some way, either by a joining road, land or green pasture edge. It really is a most fantastic game. It can be played with a co-operative spirit or a spirit of undiluted vengeance and power craziness.
It is easy to pick up the rules and once you have mastered them, buy additional box sets which extend the life if your game by adding tricky new rules and pieces.
Nicole and Adam are our mates. We go camping with them and for weekends away and the pressure is ON. "shall we have a game?", "lets put a vid on for the kids", "there's time for a game before breakfast/lunch/dinner"
We each have an added set as well as the original and on a recent weekend away, we joined the two sets together and played a game which lasted about three hours. Sometimes it is not friendly anymore. D and Nic are especially competitive. They have undisguised passion for the game and it's devious twists and snatching points and cities away from eachother.
Anyway, we have been discussing the best way to store the tiles during a game, so that there is no favouritism/cheating/complaints about shuffling. A bag! Just like you can get for Scrabble.
Better make one....each. The "c" on the front is the typeface of the game. Sad isn't it? But I knew Nic would get a kick out of it.
