flashback fridays

I have to show my hand here. When I was little my Dad was studying to be a graphic designer. A large part of that course and an abiding interest of Dad's was photography.
Have I mentioned the fact that I'm an only child?
So, I think I'll be able to keep pumping out the pre 1985 shots for a while yet.
It's been a busy but fun week, no school for my kids today so I think we'll take in the Pixar exhibition and a bit of pho in Victoria St today; look at that beautiful sunshine beaming coolly down because I don't think it's gonna last!
Happy flashback friday everyone!

soft magic

Tonight I have discovered a new, previously unknown type of magic. It goes by the name of cashmere. Last Winter I lashed out and bought a cream, short-sleeved, 100% cashmere jumper. It cost me $5.00 from a local op-shop. Not even the hint of a gravy stain. Bonus!
When I wear it I look like the Michelin Man (with breasts, very large breasts) so I rarely keep it on after a quick try.Tonight though, on the eve of my birthday, after a long day at work, I popped it on for a quick cosy up. A couple of red wines and a lovely dinner later, my 8 and 10 year old babies each decided to give me cuddles. Within nano-seconds, they had become bewitched by the fluffy sensuousness of the jumper. Gee, if all I need to do to get a bit of love is put on the magic jumper, then I'm set for life. It became almost like "stacks on" with the two of them struggling to get closer to it's vanilla loveliness. Such high quality squeezing is so delicious.
Yesterday, I celebrated my very wonderful friend's 40th birthday (yes just 366 days to go for moi..) and talked with her Mum and Aunty about various things. In conversation the fact that I am an only child came up (whereas my friend is #1 of 7) and her Mum jokingly mentioned how "spoilt" I must be/have been. Can I just say...If one more person tells me that all only children are "spoilt" I may fly right off the handle. I think "don't get me started" might be the only thing I can safely add at this stage.
