GOODBYE OLD RED..HELLO ORANGE!!

Continuing my life of procrastination.
My beloved red bag and constant companion is beginning to fray around the edges. Instead of getting stuck into the pink quilt project, I made myself a new bag.
I looked at the stash and the stash looked at me and screamed ORANGE!!
So here it is. The new bag. Same dimensions as the old one, because it worked so well. I had a stab at log cabin piecing, then went crazy. I used the pilowcase I found at the Warragul oppy, with lots of off-cuts from Nic's cushion cutting job. It's lined with polka dot orange like the gusset and a very sweet white soft cotton with red/orange flower pattern. Handles are four thicknesses for strength. Onwards orange bag.

I'm not usually into orange stuff, but that bag is delightful. Seriously, I bet people stop you in the street and smile at you when you go out with it, it just makes you happy!

I agree that orange is awesome. More edgy than red and more practical that yellow (especially if you're a grot like me!)The balance of colour match and pattern clash works really well. (Nice to see it in the flesh;))
